The final £100k push & what we’re up to in Scunthorpe…

£

We are almost into the final £100k push to fill our latest share offer. That will take us to an amazing £700,000 to fund rooftop solar panels on schools and community buildings in Scunthorpe and the surrounding area. If you have been on the fence about becoming a member, now is the time to invest in our community scheme, we have an expected return rate of 5% and this WON'T be affected if the Bank of England cuts interest rates as expected today.

Our team have been busy in the local area - yesterday Ruby (our Community Engagement Coordinator) and Zach (one of our Directors) held a pop up stand at John Leggott College, followed by a presentation and Q&A at their Upskill Science session, attended by over 30 students and staff. Their presentation explored the role renewables have to play in North Lincolnshire's energy landscape.

Ruby also attended a Cooperative Growth event in Cleethorpes, organised by Grimsby Community Energy. This brought together community benefit societies, cooperatives, renewable energy suppliers and industry experts from across the north of England to share ideas, network and celebrate the positive changes happening in the area.

Finally, our new solar panels on Kingfisher Lodge children's home were commissioned last week and Lindsey Lodge Hospice should be commissioned today. We have used existing funding to install the solar panels on these sites, the buildings do not have to pay for the panels and they will benefit from significantly cheaper electricity rates. It's great to see Phase 2 of NLCE taking shape!
