Celebrating Community Energy Fortnight
In July NLCE started off well with plenty of ‘Community Energy Fortnight’ (#CEF2025) engagements in Scunthorpe; taking in part in the biggest celebration of community energy in the UK. NLCE screened the film WE THE POWER at Oasis Community Space, which is about the journey of Community Energy in Europe and how it can benefit everyone involved.
We also held two pop up stalls, one at the North Lincolnshire Museum, the other at Oasis Community Space, speaking to the general public about how they can get involved both outside and within share offers.
In addition to this, NLCE co-hosted a tour of our solar PV installations at Lindsey Lodge Hospice (one of our recently finished host sites) to show the public the how our community is working to get solar on more rooftops across North Lincs and the tangible impact it has already had in such a short amount of time.
Finishing off #CEF2025, our Community Engagement Coordinator Ruby featured in a podcast with Jenna Miles from Joju Solar: she spoke about the impact of local energy ownership, the working relationship with Joju Solar installers, NLCE’s progress in the last year and hopes for the future.
